Shire Clerk’s Cottage Markets
Eat, shop, and be merry!

Sprawling across the Leisure Centre’s grounds and into the main building, our Cottage markets feature creations by local artisans (including those made in our activity groups), bric-a-brac, great food from our volunteer-run canteen, entertainment, local produce, tours of the Cottage, and our famous Devonshire Tea on the verandah!

Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQ

We start at 8am and close at 1pm.

We have been running them every two months, but with their growing popularity they may happen more frequently.

If the countdown above isn’t ticking down, we haven’t added the next event yet. To find out the date, check out our calendar, visit our dedicated Markets Facebook page (or check the posts below) for the date of our next market.

Then the trees and plants will enjoy the day a little more with us – our markets go ahead rain or shine!

Just like husbands, dogs are allowed provided they are on a leash.

Just kidding about the husbands.

Shopper FAQ

While we do have car parking behind the centre, it’s best to find street parking as the market stalls surround the road in and out.

We’re only a short walk from the Wynnum train station on the Cleveland line, and bus Routes 220 and 223 both stop near the centre (Stops 2 and 3 on Tingal Road).

We celebrate our local arts and crafts, but with 70 stalls on average, there can be fresh local fruit and vegetables for sale. It depends on who has decided to take a stall, however we don’t promote ourselves as a farmer’s market.

Individual merchants may have their own EFTPOS machine, but as we all know, markets are easier to navigate with cash. To help out, we have a mobile ATM in the centre on market days.
